If you were going to ski in the winter where would you want to go? It could be hard to pick the right place. There are quite a few ways to learn about ski resorts, such as reading current weather and climate reports.

However, you probably need to know more than just how much snow is on the ground. So, I have given you some info about some of the world's most spectacular winter resorts:

1. Banff: This is a  Canadian national parka this location is know for it hot spring that many people bathe in after a long day of skiing. A historic hotel is located in this city near the Canadian Pacific Railroad. If you love to ski and you also love history, you will like to visit this area.
2. Gran Cathedral: Most people do not think of going skiing in the Southern Hemisphere. However, this spot is known as quite the place during the months of June to mid-October. The Gran Cathedral is one of the largest and oldest of all the ski spots located in the Andes Mountains, which are situated in both Argentina and Chile.
3. Alta: Alta is located in this state of the Utah. This ski resort is considered more of a quaint and old fashioned ski resort. This is one of the most inexpensive and there are some trails available at this resort which are appropriate for beginners.
4. Shiga Kogan: Before now, I never knew that Japan was considered one of the best ski resort locations. However, many people do and this is the reason why: This particular 70,000-acre resort covers a span of two mountains. They have trails for all levels-from beginning to intermediate, and a few advanced slopes. I might try this location after all, if I were an avid enough of a skier.
5. Silverton Mountain: This is only one of many of the famous spots to enjoy this very popular winter sport. It is located in the Colorado Rockies, and dedicated participants can hike it up to Storm Peak which is 13,487. Guided and unguided skiing is available here.
